Project Profile: South Orange Commerce Center construction management –
South Orange Commerce Center was once a 50,000 metal building used for boat manufacturing. Its developer wanted it converted into eight retail/office spaces. The 3.5-acre lot needed complete site work, but the metal building was converted into a thriving plaza.
The facility required a complete gutting and custom build out of four of the eight units. In addition, CAM Contracting did a custom build out a 5,000 square foot gun range adjacent to the main building.
The project was completed on time and within budget.
Project Scope
- Convert existing 50,000 square foot warehouse into eight separate retail spaces
- New three-phase electric service
- New plumbing
- Underground fire sprinklers
- Framing
- Drywall installation
Unique Challenge
The warehouse was a timeworn building. It’s state resulted in many unforeseen issues such as hazardous waste disposal. New electric and plumbing were required throughout the facility, resulting in extensive site work.
The Solution
CAM worked with the developer, architect and Orange County Building Department to keep everything on track as well as on schedule during all phases of construction. Conscientiously paying attention to detail made this project, with many potential pitfalls, a success.
